Most expressions of the human face occurs in the eyes, which project a wide array of emotions such as happiness, fear and sorrow. The eyes themselves, however, are virtually expressionless. It is the surrounding skin contour – the tissue, fat, muscle, hair and lashes – around the eyes that conveys these emotions and expressions.
Wrinkles, deep lines, and puffy eyelids begin to develop as we age. Exposure to the sun and genetic predispositions are also contributing factors. Whatever the cause, these changes in the expression of the eyes can lead to a tired and/or older appearance, which can lead to anxiety and can even produce actual visual impairment.
Eyelid lift (or blepharoplasty) is the preferred treatment for removing bags under the eyes, or drooping eyelids, conditions that can add years to your appearance and even impair your vision.
Eyelid surgery may be performed under local anesthesia in our Beverly Hills office. Dr. Saadat will make tiny incisions along the natural lines of your eyelids which results in minimal scarring.
Most patients are back to their normal routine within days, although complete recovery may take a few weeks.
