Botox (or Botulinum toxin) is a non-surgical injection that temporarily blocks the nerve impulses and paralyzes the muscles that cause the wrinkles. As Botox only affects small areas, most of the other face muscles will act normally giving the face a natural expression.
What are the advantages of having Botox?

There is no downtime.
When can I expect to see results from my Botox treatment?
Results are noticeable in 3-7 days.
When can I go back to work/resume my normal activities after having a Botox treatment?

How long will the results of a Botox treatment last?
Botox is a temporary solution. The result of Botox injections last from three to six months after the first injection. However, the results seem to be somewhat cumulative - the more follow-up injections you have, the longer they last.
What are my alternatives to having Botox?
There is no alternative to Botox that paralyzes the muscles that cause wrinkles. Botox is often used in combination with dermal fillers and/or after a cosmetic surgery to enhance and prolong results.
